Great Branding and smooth logistics for packaging

A lot of CPG founders have strong branding but get lost when it comes to packaging logistics. There are so many options for printers, materials, and quantities that the process quickly becomes overwhelming. Here is a simple way to think about it so you can source packaging without wasting time or money.

You can order packaging from three main places: on demand printers, mid size domestic printers, or overseas manufacturers. On demand printers work well for small runs and testing but are not ideal for scaling. Mid size printers offer the best balance of quality, color accuracy, and reasonable MOQs, which is why most growing brands use them. Overseas is the most economical at scale but requires longer lead times, higher minimums, and more attention to sampling and color management.

Before you order anything, make sure you know the material you need, how many units you can realistically store, and how soon you need everything delivered. Lead times range from a few weeks to several months depending on the vendor. Color accuracy is another major factor since printers use different processes, and your files must be truly print ready to avoid dull colors or unwanted shifts. Products with oils, liquids, or food sensitivities may also require specific barrier films or coatings, so choosing the right substrate matters as much as the design itself.

Cash flow is another part of the equation. Paying up front typically gives you better pricing, but it also ties up a lot of money early. Credit terms like Net 15 or Net 30 help you keep cash longer, especially if you are scaling quickly, but not every vendor offers them to new brands. If you choose terms, make sure your inventory planning is tight so you are not stuck with large bills before product moves.

Many founders run into the same issues. They order too many units, forget to request samples, underestimate freight costs, or send files that are not set up correctly for printing. These small mistakes can lead to delays, extra fees, and packaging that does not look the way you expected.

Service and Supply helps you avoid those problems by guiding you through materials, sizing, color setup, and vendor communication. We make sure your packaging not only looks great but prints correctly, shows up on time, and supports your retail goals. If you want a shorter checklist or landing page version of this, I can create that too.
